Bad Blogger...

Yikes! I can't believe three weeks have passed since I last posted. It must have been a little bout of 'I'm-so-sick-of this-freakin-cold-weather-and-snow-that-I-can't-even-stand-myself' illness that's been going around! Okay-- it's still cold but at least the sun's out. So I'm back amongst the living.

Spent the last 2 days at the Sewing and Quilt Expo. I was signed up for a class with Carol Cypher on Hand Felted Surface Design and Embellishment for yesterday, but apparently she's teaching in Australia instead. Can't say that I blame her. Let's see -- Cleveland in March or travel Down Under...hmmmm. Tough choice...NOT!

The replacement class was on making wet-felted vessels with teacher Fran Steinbock. Not at all what I would have chosen, but the class was wonderful and lots of fun and I'm glad that I had the opportunity to take it. The vessels were felted around a deflatable ball and the main felting was done by bouncing the ball hard on the floor for a half hour or so. Can you picture the classroom?
Here's my vessel. I think I must make more...

And the inside.

Missed our own art opening last night...

Because of this...

The driveway

The back fence

It's looking a lot like last year's Valentine Day and Easter storms. This one hit us yesterday and slammed 17" of snow on top of Tuesdays ice storm. So far. And now it's snowing so hard that I can't even see across the street. Nothing is moving -- busses are going sideways -- malls and freeways and the airport are closed. Snow day...sew day!
